Vision… Impact… Legacy

Breaking Barriers, Building Impact

Born to bi-racial parents in Washington D.C. during the Civil Rights Movement, Gina Di Giulian Nisbeth happened upon Wall Street at the age of 30 with two young children in tow and a newly minted MBA from a “non-targeted” school. Over a 25-year career, she ascended to become the only black female trader she ever knew of, and, later, a banker, in the greatest stalwart institution of privileged male dominance in America; a place where people who are different have long been considered outsiders. Along the way, she learned some valuable and shareable lessons.

Now in private practice, her advisory firm, 9th & Clinton is named for the two streets she grew up on as a child (which were low income communities in Washington, DC and Brooklyn, NY). The company provides strategic advisory and investment structuring expertise to real estate developers, fund managers, nonprofits, and for-profit organizations, investing across the country with low-income communities, much like her own, for impact. Her clients rely on her to source capital, structure real estate financial transactions, perform market research, expand executive capacity, and connect organizational leaders within her deep industry network.

Gina is a frequent conference and event speaker. She shares with audiences her technical knowledge as well as her sage advice to set a wide range of measurable goals, quantify the costs, and ultimately build fulfilling careers for themselves and the people they love, whether on Wall Street or in any other institution that wasn’t built with them in mind.

The Others of Wall Street

Her manuscript, The Others of Wall Street: Learning to Live Outside, is a prescriptive memoir loosely based on her career, offering a unique inside look into her journey breaking barriers in corporate America and providing insightful lessons for women of color, and other non traditional hires, who are navigating their careers, defining leadership for themselves, and seeking purpose in high pressure organizations.

Gina took what life had to offer and made it grow and you can, too!

Author’s Journey

Gina has been journaling for the better part of the past 20 years. Now, with the assistance of a ghost writer and training through The Book Academy, the manuscript is complete!

More About the Manuscript

Part memoir, part survival kit, The Others of Wall Street details how one woman’s sometimes unstable but loving childhood, shaped by strong women and a family belief in the power of education, equipped her to break barriers in one of America’s most exclusive and unwelcoming industries. The narrative unpacks the unique challenges she faced as a black woman, offering a candid insider’s view of how she not only navigated this world, but overcame the many obstacles to thrive. From the “over-educated, under-qualified, non-traditional hire” label assigned to her, to the lessons she learned the hard way about systemic bias and self-preservation, this book is a must-read for others who are determined to beat the odds.

The Others of Wall Street, Learning to Live Outside is currently pitching literary agents for publication in 2025!
